Opening Day!!

Monday, April 20th, 2009

When Ella was born, Joel decided to start an annual tradition of taking her to the Opening Day of the Washington Nationals.  She was a teensy little thing that first year but the tradition is going strong for year three!

The game was so fun!  Ellie loved to clap…for either team.  She would shout “Go Nats!” as loud as she could.  She also loved the hot dog, chips, peanuts, ice cream, fruit snacks, lemonade, and on and on….and on.

Mommy, E-Z, and Mimmy got to go along too.  I am sure this was the first of MANY sporting events for us as a family.

When Joel put Ella to bed that night, she was talking all about the game.  How she met the “clowns” (the running Presidents), the lizard (the Geico gecco), all her snacks.  Joel was a bit concerned that she didn’t actually mention baseball for about five minutes!  Overall, it was a very special time with Daddy!

Just a little rain!

We aren’t the kind of family that can be discouraged by a little rain storm!  There was egg hunting to be done and we were not going to miss out!

Our annual church Easter EGGstravaganza is always the day before Easter.  Darn right, I put my kid in her rain coat and hauled her out there for some fun!

One soggy but excited family!

Silly Easter Bunny!  Okay, she was scared to death at first.  But our friend Scott…um, I mean “Easter Bunny” was persistent with some tummy tickles!

Matchy matchy - Violet and Ellie

“I love these dudes!”  Ellie with cousins Sammy and Noah. The made sure to fill her up with sugar!
